How to Make a Nether Portal in Minecraft: The Ultimate Guide

How to make a Nether portal?

If you're looking to travel to the Nether in Minecraft, you'll need to build a portal. Here's a quick guide on how to make a Nether portal.
First, you'll need fourteen obsidian blocks. You can find obsidian by using a diamond pickaxe to mine it from Blackstone or by finding it in ruined portals in the Nether. Once you have your obsidian, use a flint and steel to create a rectangle of obsidian blocks that is four blocks wide and five blocks high.

Then, light the inside of the portal with the flint and steel. This will activate the portal and transport you to the Nether. Be careful when traveling through the Nether, as it is a dangerous place full of hostile mobs. And that's all there is to it!

If you're looking for something a little more challenging, you can try building a portal in the End. This can be done by finding a structure called an Ender Portal. These are usually found in strongholds but can also be generated randomly in the world. To activate an Ender Portal, you'll need to find four end portal frames and fill them with the eyes of the ender. Once all four frames are filled, the portal will be activated, and you'll be able to travel to the End.

Happy exploring! And don't forget to build yourself a portal home so you can get back to the safety of your Overworld base.

How many blocks of obsidian to make a Nether portal?

To make a Nether Portal in Minecraft, you will need at least ten obsidian blocks. If you have less than ten obsidian blocks, the portal will not be big enough to teleport you to the Nether. You can use any block to build the frame of your Nether Portal, but obsidian is the best choice because it is not flammable, and Ghasts won't destroy it.

If you have ten or more obsidian blocks, you can start building your Nether Portal. First, make a square frame with your obsidian blocks. The square should be at least four blocks wide and five blocks tall. Once you have completed the frame, place a portal block in the center of the square—Right-click on the portal block with a Flint and Steel to activate the Nether Portal. Now you can step through the portal and enter the Nether!

How to activate the Nether portal?

Nether portals are built by placing obsidian blocks in a rectangular frame. The Nether portal is activated by igniting it with a flint and steel or throwing a fire charge into it. When ignited, the portal turns purple and emits green particles. Players can walk through the portal to travel between dimensions. If a player steps through the portal while it is already active, they will be teleported to the other dimension.
